Description
Abstract
The wetland layer represents the wetlands in Waupaca County that are larger than five acres in size. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Bureau of Water Regulation and Zoning (WRZ) provided this coverage. The WDNR-WRZ is the custodian for this coverage, which is officially, titled the Digital Wisconsin Wetland Inventory geographic data layer. The burden for determining 'fitness for use' rests entirely upon the requestor. The wetland layer is available in a county-wide or individual layer for each township, city, or village. The layer is based on the Waupaca County Coordinate System (WCCS).

Purpose
WWI data provides consultants, planners, resource managers and other county staff with information on the location of wetlands within Waupaca County.

Supplementary Information
Wetland delineations are either scanned or digitized from 1:24,000-scale ratioed and rectified photographic base maps.
Wetland delineations and classifications are determined from air photo interpretation and field verification of
1:20,000-scale black-and-white infrared stereoscopic aerial photography.
